PATTERN DESCRIPTION

This casual, slightly oversized, knee length coat has dropped shoulders, wide sleeves, statement pockets, angled side seams with vents, and optional fastenings.

FIT
A generous fit, with room to wear over a sweater.

LEVEL
A coat might seem like a big project but in fact coat-weight fabrics are surprisingly easy to work with and because there is a generous ease they are not difficult to fit. Have a go!

Our sewing classes are relaxed and friendly. Class sizes are kept small (this also applies to online courses) to ensure everyone gets the time and attention they need. This does mean that booking is essential. The course will only run if there are sufficient numbers. Please note online course are open to all levels of beginners and confident beginners and it is hard to estimate timings need to complete.

What’s Included In The Price Of The Course

    • Hire of spacious hall (see Venue for more information)
    • A full day of tuition with lead tutor plus assistant guiding you through each step of your garment from cutting out to hemming

What do I Need To Do In Advance Of The Course

  • Purchase your workshop and then follow the link below to purchase your Petra Coat Kit. We will package and send your complete course kit ready for you to start the course. Please note if you join the sew along  less than 7 days before the start there may be additional postage cost to get the fabric to you on time.

What Do I Need To Bring With Me To The Course

  • You will need to bring your own sewing machine and all its accessories, bobbin and thread. You will also need to provide your own extension cable. Your machine must be fitted with a ballpoint needle and threaded with thread provided in your kit.

Venue

The course will be held at

St Michael’s Road Community Centre Hitchin SG4 0QA

The venue has a large spacious well ventilated hall with has lots of free parking right outside the door and both toilet and kitchen facilities. It is a well managed clean space which is “fogged” on a weekly basis for added peace of mind.
