Course Description

This is a relaxed two-hour introduction to our studio for any child aged 9 and up, preparing them to join our weekly classes.

What skills will I learn?

During this introductory session, the children will learn:

  • Health and safety in the studio, including equipment and machines
  • How to identify parts of a sewing machine
  • How to sew straight lines, corners, curves
  • Introduction to dressmaking equipment– how to identify and use items safely
  • How to use irons and pressing tools

What’s included in the price of the course?

  • Full individual use of up-to-date electronic Janome sewing machines and overlockers
  • Use of premium sewing tools

What do I need to bring?

Just a big smile and maybe a water bottle!

Our sewing classes are relaxed and friendly, taking place at our beautiful studio. Children’s class sizes are kept small to ensure everyone gets the time and attention they need but this does mean that booking is essential in advance as classes sell out quickly.
