FABRIC

We have selected a beautiful light weight cotton in various beautiful designs (hand block printed by artisans in Jaipur India) from our collection so that we are all sewing with fabrics that we are familiar with and are therefore able to troubleshoot any problems that any students encounter.

The Sew-Along  runs over a series of 3 days with one x 1hr and two 2hr classes allowing you enough time to digest each stage in between classes and maybe make another one alongside.

How will it work?

The class will take place in a ‘virtual classroom’ using the video meeting software Zoom. You will need to have Zoom installed on the device you intend to use for the class, it’s free and easy to use. If you haven’t used Zoom before we suggest you have a practice before the class. Please download the free version via this link https://zoom.us/meetings

  • We also suggest choosing a quiet area to set up your machine next to your device. To achieve the best internet connection please reduce as many items as you can that are connected to your router.
  • You will receive an email link once you have signed up that will take you directly to the class. All you need to do is click on the link just before we are due to start. We suggest signing in 10 mins before the start time, you will be held in a virtual waiting room.
  • We encourage you to turn on your own video and audio so we can interact, and you can ask us questions – the idea is that it’s as much like an in-person class as possible!

Fabric

We will all work with a similar weight of fabric in order to make sure we are all working under the same conditions to help with troubleshooting. We have selected a cotton fabric in a range of beautiful colours and designs from our collection.

This beautiful cotton cambric is made by the Hand block printing artisans in India. Sanganeri is a hand-block printing technique originating from Sanganer, Rajasthan, India. These fabrics are printed by a traditional hand block printing method using carved designs wooden dipped into the natural vegetable dyes of various colours.
As these fabrics are hand printed there can be some imperfections in the work, for example some extra amount of colour spilling out from the design etc. However, this adds to the character and beauty of the handmade products and make them unique and one of a kind.
All of our hand block cotton prints are 100% cotton (60×60 cambric).

Please select your size range and fabric choice to ensure you have the correct amount of fabric for your robe.
