Each needle has two bands of colour painted onto them. The top band represents the type of needle, for example Jersey, Denim etc. And the second band represents the size 80/12 etc.
This is great for if you keep forgetting what needle you currently have in your machine, or need to swap one out whilst in between projects.
If it’s your first order, they also come with a little booklet explaining all the colour bands, and what each needle type works best for what fabrics.
Schmetz needles have been around for a long time! In 1851, Ferdinand Schmetz founded the SCHMETZ needle factory in Herzogenrath near Aachen. And although the packaging might have changed, they are still fantastic quality needles!
