Come and have you Sunday morning coffee and sewing chat with us! Sunday sewing club meets twice a month on a Sunday morning for a chat about all things sewing. This is a social event giving you an opportunity to chat to like minded sewists, share ideas and ask questions. It’s a free of charge service with a very relaxed feel. Just drop us an email or add to your basket and process as a free product and we will send you a link via zoom to join us.

How does it work?

The social will take place using the video meeting software Zoom. You will need to have Zoom installed on the device you intend to use for the class, it’s free and easy to use. If you haven’t used Zoom before we suggest you have a practice before the class. Please download the free version via this link https://zoom.us/meetings

Sunday Sewing Club is 1 of the best kept secrets of The Studio at Number 30 !!

The Club is run by Kaye & Elaine who through their classes at The Studio have built some great friendships as we all continue on our sewing adventures.

This complimentary service provided by the team 2 Sundays a month gives us a chance to catch up with other students we have met at previous classes and workshops, be it in person or on zoom. It is a relaxed and sociable way to spend an hour or 2 on a Sunday, discussing the latest pattern to hit The Studio shelves

Plus Kaye always gives us a sneak peek at the newest arrivals of haberdashery & fabric in the shop. It’s such a bonus to see Kaye handle the fabric, show us any stretch / drape it has. This provides the perfect opportunity to talk about what patterns are best suited to the fabric plus Kaye can show us all the ‘notions’ needed to make the garment up. This is especially important when you want to match threads, especially overlocking thread that we often forget about.

While we have varying skill levels, everyone is happy to share their story of making their latest ‘me made’ – we support each other through the ups, downs, unpicking and most importantly the celebrating of a brand new make !!

It’s not always sewing chat, given lockdown has taken over our lives for almost a year now, our community has been there to talk through the dark days, laugh through the bad hair days (mainly mine !!) and to focus on the brighter days ahead.

I absolutely love Sunday Sewing Club, it’s great to see familiar faces plus welcome any new sewists along, it really does your soul the power of good to belong to and be part of such a special club.
