Part of Closet Core Patterns’ cozy yet stylish Montreal Lounge Collection, the Mile End Sweatshirt is a fresh, modern take on a classic wardrobe staple. With a slouchy, oversized fit, graphic style lines and clever details, it makes a true statement. View A is a classic crewneck sweatshirt with a band neckline. View B adds a fun twist by gathering the front band at the waist with a fabric tie. View C is a unique hoodie with a deep crossover neckline and a kangaroo pocket. All views feature a curved back yoke and a two-piece darted sleeve. Sizes 0 – 20.

Our sewing classes are relaxed and friendly. Class sizes are kept small (this also applies to online courses) to ensure everyone gets the time and attention they need. This does mean that booking is essential. The course will only run if there are sufficient numbers. Please note online course are open to all levels of beginners and confident beginners and it is hard to estimate timings need to complete.

- Choosing the right stretch fabric for your pattern
- Measuring and deciding on your size taking into account negative ease
- Exploring economical double fold layouts
- Tips on cutting stretch fabric – rotary cutters v scissors
- Tips on pinning and sewing using fabric clips
- Identifying suitable stretch stitches on your sewing machine
- Exploring types of stabilising materials such as seam tape and bias tape
- How to sew a neckband
- How to insert a sleeve
- How to sew neckbands, cuffs and hem bands
- How to finish neckbands with twin needle or zig zag stitching
- How to sew sleeve darts

What do I need to prepare in advance of the course?
- Purchase your workshop and then follow the link below to purchase your Mile End Sweatshirt Kit. We will package and send your complete course kit ready for you to start the course. Please note if you join the sew along less than 7 days before the start there may be additional postage cost to get the fabric to you on time.
What Do I Need To Bring With Me To The Workshop
- You will need to bring your own sewing machine and all its accessories, bobbin and thread. We will have two overlockers available for communal use but you may prefer to bring your own overlocker along with your sewing machine. You will also need to provide your own extension cable. Your machine must be fitted with a ballpoint needle and threaded with thread provided in your kit.

The venue has a large spacious well ventilated hall with has lots of free parking right outside the door and both toilet and kitchen facilities. It is a well managed clean space which is “fogged” on a weekly basis for added peace of mind.
