Over the duration of this course, you will embark on a journey of skill development and creative expression. You’ll gain confidence in working with woven fabrics, mastering techniques like precise cutting, accurate seam allowances, and intricate finishing touches. Be prepared to dedicate time both in and outside of class to achieve the best results, as practice and attention to detail are key to mastering this classic garment. By the end of the course, you’ll not only have a beautifully finished, custom-made button-up shirt, but also a comprehensive set of transferable skills for future sewing projects

What Do I Need To Bring With Me To The Course

You will need to bring

  • Your sewing machine plus instruction manual and extension cable.
  • You will need a full tool kit (You will be given a list of what to bring)
  • Your pattern and pattern pieces and fabric cut out and ready to go
  • Your own packed lunch and water bottle plus mug for hot drinks

What else do I need to know?

  • This course is designed for students who feel comfortable at their sewing machine and have made a number of garments already.
  • This is part 1 of the course. There will be a follow up date to finish your shirt as it will not be possible to complete in one day. There will be an additional cost for part 2.
  • We will meet for a pre course introduction lesson to discuss preparation of your pattern and fabric. This will be on zoom.
  • You will receive a confirmation email upon booking please ensure you have given us your telephone number. You will be added to a course WhatsApp group before the start of the course
  • Our classes are non-refundable so please make sure you’ve checked your diary carefully before booking
