• We run group classes and private lessons for anyone, with any level of sewing expertise, including complete beginners. We offer fun and relaxed children’s group classes. We are also always thinking up new ideas for workshops, and you can receive updates on all our classes and workshops by signing up for our free newsletter.

  • Simply click on the ‘COURSES’ and ‘WORKSHOPS’ tabs at the top of this page. You’ll find details about ALL the classes currently on offer there. Please keep checking back – we’re always working hard to create new classes, workshops and events.

  • Yes – please contact us via our email address to arrange.

  • Yes – we love running private, one-off sessions, for anything like a birthday or hen do. Please send us an email via our email address, including as much information as possible, then we’ll contact you to talk about costs and about everything you want from the lesson.

  • No – the studio is fully equipped with high-quality equipment.
You are welcome to bring your own machine, especially if you would like help in how to use it. Please be aware, though, that we cannot accept liability if you have any problems with your own machine. It will need to be in good working order and electrically safe, with a working foot cable, power pedal and machine-specific instructions. You will also need to carry your machine down a (well-lit) path to our studio. If you don’t have any of the required machine accessories, you could then use a studio machine for that part of the course.

  • Yes, there is free parking on the road directly outside the studio. It’s permit-controlled, but not during the normal hours of our classes.

  • When you register for a new course, you will receive clear details on anything you might need to bring with you. We’ll give you tips on where to buy fabric, if you need any for your course. You’ll also be able to find all the info by checking the course details on this website, and you can always email us if you have any queries. Otherwise, you’ll only need to bring yourself, plus anything you’d like to drink. Over time, you will need some sewing items for your own personal use. Carefully selected haberdashery supplies are available to purchase from our studio, if required, and we offer an optional haberdashery kit for each course. We also provide all the required patterns and hand-outs, specific to each course.

  • Yes – please just click on the ‘SHOP’ tab at the top of this page. You can then collect your order from our studio whenever it suits you. Please note: all our haberdashery supplies are carefully selected and competitively priced. They are chosen for their high quality, rather than being the cheapest available, and we sell them at the lowest recommended retail prices. I’m more interested in making sure you have good tools to work with than making a profit on these sales! I’ll even refund the difference if you find the same items available cheaper elsewhere.

  • Yes – simply enter your email address in the footer, below, to subscribe and receive all our updates.

  • We work closely with a trusted supplier, who is always willing to give advice and/or provide excellent machines based on your experience and budget. Please visit the sewing machine section in our shop for links.

  • You’ll find us on Chiltern Road, with free parking right outside the studio, close to the centre of the market town of Hitchin, Hertfordshire. We’re only 5–10 minutes’ walk from Hitchin train station, which has direct rail links to London and Cambridge and surrounding towns.

  • When purchasing a workshop or a course which includes a downloadable product, this product will appear in your account under downloads. The PDF(s) will stay in your account for 30 days before being deleted.
