Working With Your Block – Draft Your Own Top

Spend the afternoon transforming your bodice block into a stunning, one-of-a-kind top with the help of your Telestia tutors Alice and Kaye. We will help you imagine your design into a pattern taking into consideration your new found style knowledge. You will also get to see designs of your fellow students thus increasing your pattern cutting knowledge.

• Sketch out a rough design for your top onto one of our pre printed croquis
• Discuss which fabric types which would be most suitable for your design.
• Decide on the features of  your top such as neckline, dart positions and sleeve style.
• Discuss your design with your tutor
• Start to draft your design and produce pattern pieces produce your top
• Discuss and make notes on finishing techniques and order of sewing

Alice and Kaye are both Telestia pattern cutting tutors although Alice is the queen of the yellow square! She has been using it to draft patterns for her made to measure clients for many  years with great success. They both love sharing their knowledge of garment making and pattern cutting and delight in seeing their students wearing  me made outfits.

• A copy of your bodice block
• Telestia kit to include the Telestia template, large ruler, tape measure and rotary pencil
• Scotch tape and paper scissors
• Extra pattern cutting paper

• In order to do this course you must have a pre-fitted bodice block. If you have drafted your block with Kaye you can contact us and we will help you make sure your block is ready for the workshop at no extra charge.

The venue has a large spacious well managed space close to Hitchin train station. It has lots of free parking and excellent toilet and kitchen facilities.
