Course Description

In this techniques workshop we are going to take a deep dive into bias binding and their uses. Seam finishes the can often make or break a garment so we will explore all the techniques to ensure you get a professional result.

  • What is the difference between single fold and double fold bias binding
  • How to make your own bias binding
  • How to use a bias binding tool
  • Methods of sewing bias binding including exposed and concealed methods
  • Applying binding as a facing

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring the following 

  • Sewing machine threaded and fitted with a universal 80 needle. Also bring your machine accessories, feet and manual
  • Extension cable
  • Your haberdashery kit
  • Pen
  • Water bottle

This course is suitable for those who would like to improve their garment finishing techniques. You must be able to competently use your sewing machine and have made a few simple garments

Our sewing classes are relaxed and friendly. Class sizes are kept small to ensure everyone gets the time and attention they need. This does mean that booking is essential. The course will only run if there are sufficient numbers.
