Pattern Cutting – Designing With Your Block

Monday Afternoons (see specific dates above) 

Time  – 2 -4 pm

Venue – St Michael’s Mount Community Centre, St Michael’s Road, Hitchin SG4 0QA 

This sessions are a chance for those people who have their blocks and want to take the next step and convert them into garments. Each week we will look at a different pattern drafting technique, practising on small scale and full size blocks. We will build a directory of skills which you can use to draft your own patterns.

• Hire of the  venue
• 2.hrs of tuition
• Handouts and mini blocks
• Refreshments and biscuits
• Membership of a secure WhatsApp group for support in between classes
• Membership of our Social Society

You will need to bring the following items with you

• Pattern drafting tools including:
• Telestia square and long ruler
• Rotary pencil with eraser
• Small ruler
• Scotch magic tape
• Paper scissors
• Pattern drafting dot and cross paper
• Pattern notcher
• Calico or cotton fabric for practising
• A mug for your hot drink
