We have been longing to give our website a new look for a very long time and finally with the help of some very clever people our dream has come true.
Our new look website is now live!!!
At first glance you may not see much change, our branding remains very familiar but it’s been made cleaner and fresher with some beautiful new images.
Our goal was always to provide our students and visitors with a user friendly way of browsing our site, learning about our courses, workshops, events and experiencing a hassle free shopping experience. We aim to provide the modern dressmaker with a range of high quality courses plus all the provisions they need to complete them.
What’s New?
New Pattern Companies
As well as our old favourites we are slowly introducing some new brands to our range. The three we have choosen to start with are;
Merchant and Mills, who’s ethos is to respect the roots of sewing, from trade to home dressmaking and to inspire more people to find the satisfaction of simply making, offering classic shaped garments with clean lines. Their patterns are beautifully presented with easy to follow instructions.
Dhurata Davies, a pattern designer from West Sussex who has created some lovely easy going garments for everyday wear. In the coming weeks we will also be adding patterns from the lovely duo and our friends at Alice & Co Patterns!
They design simple, stylish dressmaking patterns for you to download and make at home. You will be able to download and store your PDF’s on your account with us so you never loose them.
Our Online Shop Is Now Open
We are passionate about providing high quality haberdashery, tools that will last and perform the job in hand with ease. The items we stock have been chosen from a vast range and have been tried and tested in our studio before being added to our shop. The website offers a full explanation of all the items and you can even leave a review for others!
All orders can be sent via Royal Mail or collected from here via our Click and Collect service. There are various methods of payment available including PayPal. The site also offers you the ability to set up an account to remember your details for next time so ordering is even easier! Orders are packed in environmentally friendly packaging that is fully recyclable.
Lot’s Of New Workshops
We know you’ve been asking for more one off workshops and this break has given us a chance to write a few! Although we will not be able to put in dates just yet, you can still register your interest for these and even buy gift vouchers so you are ready to go when we get the green light! We have lot’s more ideas and we will be adding more to this line up in the coming weeks. Hopefully this will give you something to look forward to. We have also been trialing some online workshops and our Jack Tar Sew-Along was very successful so keep an eye out for more of those those in the coming weeks.
Gift Vouchers
At this time more than ever we really need your support. One thing you could do is to purchase our new online gift vouchers. These can be bought in denominations or combinations of £10, £25, £50 or £100. The vouchers can be redeemed in full or part against anything on the website and have a lifespan of 1 year from purchase.
Fabric
Yeah we all need more fabric don’t we?!!!
We are slowly building up our stocks of fabric, but for now we have some of your store cupboard favourites.
Eventually our aim is to create a seasonal range of curated fabrics pairing them with some fabulous patterns and allowing you to create your own kit.
We already have some pre-prepared Sewing Kits with everything you need to complete your garment. However we have plans afoot to make these even better. This is being planned at the moment and will hit the website soon.
