The website is in full swing! 150 150 The Studio At Number 30

It is the end of another busy week at The Studio and I am looking forward to the long weekend and a few days rest and relaxation with my family.
I would like to say a very sincere thank you to everyone who has bought from our website already. I know times are tough but every single sale really does make me do a little happy dance. Since we had to cancel all our upcoming courses, this is keeping us going at the moment.
I am very very appreciative of your support, thank you xx

What’s New?

Fabric!

We are starting to build up our stocks of fabric and here are a few new ones available now to keep you going. The beautiful contemporary flower design (top row) is 100% cotton and has a lovely soft feel. It would be ideal for a casual Stevie top or dress and is competitively priced at £6 per metre! Or how about a comfy Bettine dress, perfect for wearing indoors when it’s hot and you are fed up of your loungewear! Both patterns are super easy quick makes and ideal for beginners. We also have a lovely quality stretch navy stripe in stock, ideal for a Romy or Coco or any Breton or T- shirt pattern you have to hand.
Want some for this weekend? No problem! We offer a click and collect service so you can pick it up at any point!
I don’t know about you but I find it is still a bit chilly when I walk Bill in the mornings? The Strand coat from Merchant & Mills is definitely on my wish list for a mid season throw on coat. This is an easy pattern no fussy collars, linings or buttonholes completely achievable for any beginner. Why not make it in our Indigo denim for a casual stylish look!

Bag Making

We have been running some really successful bag making classes recently and many of you now have the pattern and want to make more for presents or maybe to sell! We have therefore stocked up on the Merchant & Mills hardware in our haberdashery so you can make as many as you wish. Why not get ahead and start making Christmas presents!
If you would like to take part in our next Sew-Along making the Orton Bag click the link below to book, but be quick we only have places available.

New online tutorials and workshops

We know you’ve been asking for more online workshops, so I have been working on a few ideas. I am planning some short 1 -2 hr lessons covering some of the basics for beginners plus a few more complicated processes or things that we all find a bit more tricky. If there is anything in particular you would like me to cover such as the smocking we saw on this weeks Great British Sewing Bee, then please do drop me a note.
The lessons will be taught live on Zoom, so unlike learning on YouTube it is interactive and you can ask as many questions as you like. Each lesson will also be accompanied by a downloadable handout so you can make yourself a file and put together a sample book of techniques for future reference.
All you will need is a sewing machine, some calico (available to order on the website) your sewing box essentials, a quiet space with your laptop or phone and obviously a cup of tea and maybe a biscuit! I am also planning some longer Sew-Alongs. I am thinking the new Alexa jumpsuit from Tilly and the Buttons or Indigo? What do you think?

Gift Vouchers

At this time more than ever we really need your support. One thing you could do is to purchase our new online gift vouchers. These can be bought in denominations or combinations of £10, £25, £50 or £100. The vouchers can be redeemed in full or part against anything on the website and have a lifespan of 1 year from purchase. They are perfect for presents or even a treat for someone who needs a boost.

Kits

Don’t forget we can make you up a kit to include any of our patterns, your choice of fabric and at least one piece of haberdashery and we will give you a 10% discount on your whole kit purchase. These kits are perfect for presents, treats or purely convenience.
